Custom Honolulu Insulation was founded in 2016 by a team that grew up working on Honolulu homes and knew firsthand how under-insulated most of them were. Back then - and still today - many of the homes in neighborhoods like Kaimuki, Manoa, and Palolo were built in the 1950s and 60s, long before energy efficiency was on anyone's mind. Owners were paying sky-high electricity bills every summer and wondering why their AC never quite kept up.
The answer, in most cases, was simple: little to no insulation. Hawaii's older housing stock was designed for natural ventilation, not modern air conditioning. We set out to fix that, one home at a time, by bringing proper insulation and air sealing to properties that needed it badly.
Today, we serve homeowners and businesses across Oahu - from Honolulu proper out to Pearl City, Kailua, Kaneohe, and beyond. We are a local business, not a franchise.
